About Me

My photo
Atlanta, Georgia, United States
I have enjoyed every aspect of football since I can remember. The discipline and courage it takes to excel and play football has helped to shape my life whole heartedly. My football journey took me to Upper Moreland High School where I had the pleasure of playing against the best competition in southeastern PA. From there this great game allowed me to start 44 straights games at Cheyney University. I was blessed to play in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference, where they play the best football in all of division II. That journey allowed me to be invited into a couple of arena football camps. Football to me is the greatest game invented. As they stated in the movie "The Program" football isn't for everyone. We were the lucky ones. The sport builds character, heart, and perseverance. This is the game I love. please enjoy my blog. Proud Husband, Football Guru and Fanatic!!!!

Can We Show Thomas Some Love

Can we please show Thomas Jones some love.  How many 1400 yard running backs do you know get released over 3million dollars.  The Eagles, Redskins, Browns and a few others all need to get Thomas on the phone today.

Dunta Robinson Comes Home

Dunta Robinson got his cake and still yet may be able to eat it to.  The former Pro Bowl of the Houston Texans is returning to his home state after inking a six year $57 million dollar deal with the Atlanta Falcons.  $25.5 million dollars of the deal is guaranteed.  Robinson should help improve a battered and poor secondary. He is coming off a season in which he registered 64 tackles and no interceptions.  Robinson will immediately become the Falcons best secondary player.

Bears Get Their Man

Chicago Bears coach Lovie Smith flew to North Carolina to personally show free agent Julius Peppers how much his team needed him.  Peppers returned that gratitude by finally banking in on the monstrous contract he had been seeking for a couple season now.  The terms of the deal are believed to be $91.5 million over six years.  A record $42 million of that is guaranteed.  Peppers spoke of the city and the organization very highly.  The Bears are hoping that a paid and motivated Peppers can free up Tommie Harris and Mark Anderson for better production.  I am interested in seeing if Peppers can actually live up to the hype and the billing.  He wanted so long to get paid like the best Defensive End in football, lets hope he still wants it.

NFL Combine

Here are some notes from the Combine action I saw from the early groups.

Carlos Dunlap- DE- Florida
Move over Jevon Kearse the new freak is here. Dunlap recored 21 reps of 225. He did the linemen drills with ease. Dunlap makes most normal football players envious with his ability to perform yet still look as if he does no work at all.

Terrence (mount) Cody- DT- Bama
Mount will never be compared to Dunlap body wise. Cody suprised me with his feet and explosion. Although he didn't run a great 40 yard dash, his first 10 yards were explosive and athletic.

Gerald McCoy- DT- Oklahoma
Its hard for me to get excited about Oklahoma guys. They come off a little overrated in the pro's. (Tommie Harris). I expected McCoy to do more than 23 reps on the bench press. Once on the field he looked very explosive and every bit a top 5 pick.
